I agree with all the suggestions- especially checking the tightness of the drain plug (a common error when people change oil on 4 wheelers). I added a quart at about 8500 miles (last change was between 5 and 6000. I can see where a dealer underfills when changing the oil (rather than overfilling) and also, it is not uncommon for a good engine to use oil between changes- I've been told. Is the oil the correct viscosity? Also, I have a clunk here and there when the engine/tranny are cold in the morning but then it goes away- but I have had an occasional clunk from the tranny usually when coming to a stop, but I wouldn't let it bother me.
