Ouch! I've been using my Arai Profile throughout the winter and flippin' the visor between smoke and clear during 30 deg. temps.
No problems yet, but I do appreciate the heads up on what you'all wrote here!
I have to admit though, that the plastic levers, pivots and detents sure make a nasty sound when swapping shields, but after a while you can develop a technique that smooths out the event.
Like they say in the instructions, facing the helmet away from you certainly helps and appears to be the ONLY method that works without straining the delicate parts.
