That's interesting, I figured the opposite.
The regulator/rectifier gets reduced airflow but at a lower temperature as it is no longer preheated by the radiator and exhaust.
Maybe I should borrow a meter and a couple thermocouples this weekend and find out.
I agree it's good to keep the regulator/rectifier cool. Some of the VFR guys are adding little 12V uP fans.
