Humm... so no one's de-smogged a Cali, aye? Okay, well lemme tell you that it removes about 4 pounds of ****. Here's what the list looks like:
1. Pull off tank and seat 4 bolts in all... lol!
2. Unbolt the smog do-hickey under the tank and yank plumbing. (2 8mm bolts) Unplug diaphram and tape up the wires
3. Yank the two canisters below the frame near the center stand and plumbing
4. Yank the smog diaphram at the bottom of the bike near the centerstand. Unplug and tape up the wires
5. Yank the plumbing from the intake manifolds and carb bodies. Plug them with a Kragens 2 dollar plug kit. DO NOT plug the vent between the carbs. This is the plastic tube that looks like a balancer. I'm trying to decide whether I should just run a hose down from this one, or add a filter... just don't want dirt in there.
6. Yank out the 1/2 inch tube to the air box and plug with OSH wire plug (.68 cents) I secured mine with some black duct tape for security.
That's about it. Jetting was unneccessary, since I have not changed out the pipes yet, or opened the box. (will do soon)
FYI if a CARB member is reading this, I ride a red 2006 Ninja with polished wheels, anodized frame and a set of pink neon glow lights running across the lowers.
