From the oil flow diagram in ye-old trumpet service manual I have here...
The small pipe on the back, provides oil to the cam bearings, cam lobes, valves and cam gears. It returns to the sump via gravity, by falling down the cam chain cavity (lubes cam chain in the process)
Oil Pumps supply the following:
Front Pump:
Circulates oil along passages in the barrels then travels up to the head and flows through ports around the cumbustion chamber and exhaust ports. Then flows via the pipes to the top of the cooler, and returns to the sump. So the oil flows from top to bottom.
Lubes input shaft in transmission, and its gears and bearings.
Front pump oil is not filtered, except for an intake strainer.
Rear Pump:
Sucks oil from sump, pumps through filter and delivers pressurized, filtered oil to the cylinder head, crank and rod bearings.
A short pipe feeds the output shaft (countershaft) and its bearings.
