Thats awesome rod-man. I have pondered this same thing, I do not have a TIG welder and kinda fear tackling it with my MIG. Or maybe it is my skill (lack of) I am scared of.

The flush filler would be kickin but not too "period correct" if one were striving to retain that old school look. Oh yeah, thats not you.........so yeah....flush cap would be awesome.
