Yes, those are velocity stacks and you DON"T WANT TO RUN THEM! They were used back in the day on performance machines with a metal grid over them to keep the big "hunks" out.
There is absolutely NO AIR FILTRATION. You will seriously lessen the life of your engine. I read somewhere over the last while it takes only about 25 - 30 grams of fine grit introduced into an engine to do it serious harm.
The stacks are beautiful though in their simplicity.
