No it's not what you think.
I was sitting in the garage having a smoke and admiring the Thruxton, as usual, when a thought occurred to me.
What way does the oil flow through the oil cooler? Does the oil enter the oil cooler from the top and is gravity fed back to the crankcase? Is the oil pumped from the crankcase up through the oil cooler?
Surely that small oil line behind the jugs, from the crankcase to the head (the one with the pressure sensor) can't be supplying all the oil the head needs? If it does, how come there are two large hoses seemingly emptying the head. What way does the oil flow through the smaller tube/hose anyway? Is there a significant amount of oil carried to the head by the cam chain?
Got any answers folks? Inquiring minds need to know, seeing as how I'm too feckin' lazy to consult the Haynes manual.
