As a recent Scrambler owner, I too felt it was wrong and hesitated putting my Ram mount on the handlebars...but I did it anyway! Just for the times I take the roads less traveled. I use a Garmin 60CS and remove all but the ball mount when I don't want the clutter. Maybe I can get a pic later today if you would like to check it out.
