I trust that by "Triumph" you mean your dealer. Depending whom you speak with, though, the answer may be no more "solid" than you got here.

The fuel map is stored in non-volatile memory. It takes pretty extraordinary circumstances to corrupt it. "Some" popping may be coincidence, or different fuel or atmospheric conditions, a developing air leak in the exhaust system, or simple paranoia. If there's no significant difference in power delivery, though, it's not likely to be a mapping issue.
