In your initial post you state you'd like to have some hi-po cams installed, I'm curious where your getting them from as well as the dyno sheet's for these cams. Have they been tested on a independant 3rd party dyno?

I'm asking you this because there isnt anyone I'm aware of that is backing up claims of horsepower gains on a 3rd party dyno. As far as cam's are concerned, you arent going to find a better cam than a 790cc setup for topend power versus cost. You could theoretically advance your exhaust cam to simulate the 790cc exhaust cam specs, but I dont know anyone that has done this...in theory it should work.

Cam's seem to be in the neighborhood of 8 bill's or maybe more, your money would be far better spent on a big bore kit. It isnt the minimal increase in cc's thats the benefit, it's the added compression. Expect roughly 10 horses at the rear wheel from a bigbore kit.

As for carbs, the cr's are old news man. While they will outperform a cv carb, they are the same size as the cvk's. While the mikuni's are kinda expensive, they are a great power builder as well as being pretty easy to tune. I'm using these carbs with a stock fuel tap.

Expect roughly 10 horses at the rear wheel from adding these carbs...either before or after the bigbore kit. They perform well on stock bore engines.

You could take the money you would spend on cr carbs and cams...and have either a bigbore or the mikuni kit installed and have verifiable gain's on your machine...cams wont get you 10 horses.
