I tried to solve the hi-way cruising issue on my Legend by replacing the stock 17 tooth counter-sprocket with a T-Bird 18 tooth.
It knocked off about 4-500 revs at hi-way speed and took a bit of "ooomph" from the low end but I think the trade off is worth it.
Since all the Hinckley Classics are 90-95% identical it has been theorized(on this board) that you could add a 6th gear (say from a T-Bird Sport) on a 5 speed but that is only theory as far as I know. I don't believe anyone has actually done it.
Some would say it's not worth the effort. Just get a TBS to start with.
Whichever you choose it will have more grunt and more horsepower than even a hot-rodded Bonnie.
And the steering will be quicker as well.
I've a friend who has "done-up" his 04 Bonneville and it's not quite a Legend if ya know what I mean. :hammer:
