I've got a bad feeling about this recent development.
I've had the "clunk" consistently now whenever I do a cold start. The buzzing is gone. So, I put a new AGM battery in. The only time I get a "clunk" is on a "kickback". It clunks when it starts-runs-dies cold. This is a loud clunk. Otherwise, it runs great. BTW, the sound emanates from the top of the transmission, directly beneath the carburetors.
I intend to call a dealer to get the price on a sprag fix. I don't have the time to do it myself.
