I have 1,500 miles on the odo of my '05 bonnie - it was the dealer's demo unit, and I picked it up on Valentine's Day 2007 with 686 miles on the clock. So far, I've found my mileage steadily getting better as the bike forgets its traumatic childhood in the hands of whomever the dealer gave the keys to! (actually, it was in perfect shape when I got it).

I got about 95-100 miles to reserve out of my first few tanks, but after a couple long highway rides (150-200 miles each), where I went about 140 miles to reserve, I seem to be doing better in town now. The bike's still breaking in - clearly, the break-in on these takes a lot more than the supposed 500 or 1000 miles. I'll be surprised if I'm not consistently getting 140 miles to reserve by the time the clock hits 5k (that is, if I leave it stock  )
