Most of our problems are self inflicted. You don't HAVE to be constantly messing with the bike. Mine is bone stock; I do my own maintenance. I have no problems yet at 6400 miles and don't expect any unusual problems. Bikes take more maintenance and TLC than cages. The modern Triumph vertical twins seem pretty much bulletproof - if you leave them alone. If you mess with them then just realize that it might take a few tries to sort out your "improvements."
