A couple of tips on stripping the forks:

-Remove them from the bike to avoid a nasty mess
-Wrap the upper tube (the shinny one) with cellophane wrap or blue painter's masking tape to avoid any scratches
-Mask-off the oil seal with duct tape. I personally mask around the very top 1/8" of the lower tube (the black one) which leaves a little ring of paint, but is ultimately covered up if you are using gaiters or the stock stone guard.
-Use a stiff bristle brush such as a dish washing brush from the dollar store to help scrape loose the dissolved paint.
-Work outdoors in a well ventilated area as paint stripper can be nasty stuff.
