I pulled my D&D's this winter to wrap them with a dirt bike kit. Found that they already were wrapped, though very tightly and covered with packing tape (the fiberglass reinforced kind). Figuring that maybe they were too tight, I went ahead and installed the new stuff, using safety wire to hold it on and putting some extra near the rear end. I don't think it had much affect. All I can tell is that it is slightly lower in frequency, but not any quieter. Going to have to try something else. I have not tried my pipes with nothing in them. Don't know how loud they would e, but I don't want to know.
