A lot of ebay items lose their charm due to ridiculous shipping costs, so I think a good deal has to factor them in. I'm not sure what you're meaning by regionalized places. We're living in a global economy where a significant amount of business is done via mail order, so it wouldn't matter to me where a dealer/item is located.
I'll toss one out here - I bought some CRG lane-splitter bar end mirrors some months ago at Cycle Depot. When some of the people on the S3 forum were talking about good deals on these, I spoke with the salesman there and he agreed to do a group buy on them for (I think) $126 per pair. I don't recall whether shipping was included, but if not, it was cheap.
