Yup, I can confirm a rubber mallet and wood dowel made changing the guide pretty quick. It took longer to get the rearsets off so I could get my head around there. One thing to be careful of when knocking it on is to make sure the bottom portion doesn't go up in front of the swing arm...I had to back the guide off and make sure the bottom portion went all of the way through where it was supposed to go.
