Go the the Search function at the bottom of the Twin Talk opening page. Click on Advanced Search. Type in "peeling paint" or "gas tank peeling" or "gas tank paint" and indicate that you want to search for ALL words. Then limit it to the Twin Talk forum. You'll find a great deal of info about this issue. Some have gotten dealers to replace the tank, but then the question is whether it will happen again. Some have sanded the area and put some type of gas resistant coating on it, others have replaced the OEM gas tank cap with a Monza-style cap, which comes with an insert that covers the offending area. I never had a problem, but at 1000 miles I put on a Monza cap because I was tired of carrying around a jar opener to get the stupid OEM cap off. The Monza cap is a really nice piece of kit.
