My wife and I have the Chatterbox FRS X2 and GRMS X1, and they are fairly foolproof. The only negative is that the wife doesn't like having the brick attached to her helmet. So far, I haven't seen anything better.
Difference between the two: X2 has a two mile range, whereas the X1 has a 5 mile range. Obviously, for the two of us, we only get two miles, but that is more than adequate. I just happened to get a good deal on the X1, used from a friend.
I may look into the other options that were posted, just in case there is a better option than Chatterbox.
