You might want to get the bodywork buffed out professionally before re-assembly.

I had one of my cars painted, and a few months later, went to a detailer that buffed the paint with 3 different buffing wheels and compounds. The results were stunning, smooth and crystal clear.

Then, a good coating of wax. Seems that old school turtle wax ia out of fashion, and the guys I know use "tech wax" and "nano wax". It was actually the first time I used a wax that smelled good.
