Although I don't own an SV650, I do have an SV1000S and a TT600. The SV1000 has much better suspension than the SV650, yet I had to do a full upgrade with new springs and valves to get the bike stable even in sweepers. It was really disconcerting to ride through a long turn and get chatter through the bars. After spending about $1.5K on the suspension and other parts (i.e. lower fairings, gel seat, etc...) I finally have the SV up to the standard of the TT600. From day one the TT handled perfectly, Triumph got the suspension spot on. The SV is a great bike, but you will need to sink some cash into it to get the suspension and comfort of the TT. But the torque of the V-twin is an amazing thing! I do think the SV gearbox is superior however. You really do need to ride both and see which one makes you smile. As for me...I can't bring myself to sell the TT600.
