Good evening ladies and gents,

About three weeks ago, I noticed my cam cover gasket was leaking on both the left and right side. No big deal, thanks to the advice posted here. Two weeks ago, I tore it down, wiped everything clean, re-installed the gasket and torqued the cam cover down according to spec.

Took her for a ride the next day and after about 20 miles, pulled over and checked for leaks. The gasket held just fine but I noticed a small amount of oil along outside of the right side fins. I wiped it off and chalked the oil up to residual from the leak as I noticed there was some oil build up within the fins.

So, last weekend (March 2nd), I gave the bike the regular washing and rode about 200 miles since doing that. Today I rode her to work and upon getting home this evening, I notice a slight smear of oil on the outside of the right side of the fins again. I checked the entire cam cover gasket and it looks to be holding strong.

Any ideas as to the source of the oil? I figured the bike wash would have taken care of everything from the original leak.

Thanks in advance folks.

Cheers.
