The copper seals get hard after repeated heating and slow cooling. I have heard that you can heat the copper ring seals with a torch, don't melt them, just get them very hot and quench them in cold water. This will soften the copper back up and help them reseal better. Haven't tried it yet but will, along with using the Permatex UltraCopper #101BR Rod mentioned.
