Bought an 06' speedie ,black on chrome, light kit, chrome battery box, chrome sprocket cover and just recently bought thunderbike pipes from new zealand. Had a heck of a time getting stock pipes off, as I am a welder ,I did as recomended used oxy-acetylene to heat the cap screws orange [about 45 sec.] Did it [three ] times letting them cool before I tried backing them out, that locking agent was so locked!!!! The nutserts just spinned so I Drilled the heads off.I need to get a shop manual for this bike, Should have got this first besides all the other stuff. Thunderbike instructions are-we reccomend adjusting the idle mixture screw w/short screwdriver ..not . I have an 06', apparently,I need a D shaped tool. They say screw, do they mean plural as in both carbs ? I'm supposed to turn it anti-clockwise by one turn when viewed from underneath . I think I'm screwed up for now, doing some popping on deceleration until I can get these or this adjusted. They are pretty loud though . got picked up by police yesterday 63 in a 45 . He let me go . He asked me why? I told him I insalled new pipes yesterday and with the rest no further excuse, he let me go. COOL. These pipes also have a socket head cap screw uderneath the exaust outlet , I wonder , are they to adjust back pressure or to simply take out the , what you could call a baffle as in straight pipes. I sure would appreciate advice. :hammer: [quote]
