Have you had anyone look at the onboard computer? I left my bike standing for 3 months over winter and managed to get it to start once but when I came to refuel I couldn't start it. I managed to jump start with an external battery but then the electronics all went bananas. I took it to the dealer and they explained that after the bike looses it's charge for a significant period of time the computer can lock up (that's what happened in my case). So the dealer connected to the onboard and reset it. After that, it was fine.
The symptons you describe sound different to those I had but it's possible this is related to a computer lock.
Just a thought.
