I had exactly the same problem with my 2006 Tiger.
It was even worse with more km. One day I couldn't switch to neutral at all.
Then I tightened clutch cable ... and it was it !!!!
Now I can shift neutral pretty easily ! :-D

Just tighten clutch cable at left handlebar, 2-3 turn will do the trick.
