I have a convertable Held for touring, which I have used quite frequently. The magnets on this thing would erase a disc at ten paces.
However, I have had the bag slip once on a trip (Denali- quite reasonable as I couldn't even hold lane position in those winds) and have gotten a chest full of it twice in this little wind tunnel near where I live- 80 west at Fairfield, CA for those west coast riders. It does happen from time to time, but it's pretty rare. You should probably keep the tether in the pack anyway, because if you are carrying so much it won't fit you've overpacked. That said, I have yet to use one. It's just not in my personality to spend the extra effort.
