The position of the pin for the lock is different between early TB and TBS. This mod was common for those wanting to put the Corbin TB seat on the TBS. You might want to contact Corbin and get their seat.
Later Triumph did away with the seat lock on the TB while the TBS remained the same.
It can be done, you just have to fiddle with it. Also, back in 98 Triumph made solo seats for the TB. There has got to be some somewhere. The painted cowl is removable so repainting can be accomplished.
