Those appear to be the right forks. As for what makes them better if I understand right the stock thruxton fork uses a hole of a fixed size that oil flows threw as it travels up and down. since the size of the hole is fixed the rate of flow can't be increase or decreased to suit differant sizes and speeds of bump being hit. meaning that a small hole is good for a bump that compresses the fork slow but make a fast bump harsh because the oil is restricted. a larger hole would better for the fast bump but would give no effective damping during slower compressions. With the f3 forks the damping is controled by a set of shims that flex. when you hit a slow bump there is little presure on them so they open only a little but when you hit a sharp bump there is more pressure so they open and flow more so you get consitant damping for any kindof bump. Going with the gold valves is supposed to allow you to change the shims out to suit how much damping you like pesonaly. At least that is how it was explaned to me. hope that helps
