I would be surprised if its fuel related, then. I'm no expert, unlike some guys on here, but I think oyu need to look at electrical reasons for this. Loose battery lead, or, for my money, pick-up sensor. Possibly an ignition coil, but just one failing would give you a misfire, not a dead stop, and two coils would'nt fail together.
