Wouldn't disconnecting the hose from the tap end up spilling the gas from the tank?
The instructions say 1) turn off fuel tap and disconnect hose from tap
I would add to the instruction's to first fire the bike up and let it run a bit with the petcock turned off so as to run most of the fuel out of the fuel line before disconnecting the line from the tap.
