You're right that the Steamer came in red,but never the 885/955. I think red would suit tyhe 07 model as it is sports biased.
For me Triumph went through a phase of handicapping theire bikes with strange colour schemes. For instance Sprint RS and even the Daytona in acidic yellow. The newer colours are good but only a limited choice.
I always thought the Thunderbird Sport could have been produced in more classic colours,rather than the orange offerings. Never mind because the scorched yellow is spot on.
