I'm going to be at my brother's just outside Clarksville for a few days after Christmas and was wondering about the condition of Hwy 7 between Jasper and Pelsor and on 74 between Ponca and Jasper?

I'm looking at either a leisurely 4-5 hour ride that'd take me north from Clarksville up Hwy 21 to Fallsville, then west on 16 to catch 23 just north of St. Paul. Then north on 23 on up to Huntsville. From Huntsville I'd take 412 and 62 over to Harrison, then head south on 7 to Jasper. From there it's 7 down to Pelsor where I'd hit 123 to Hagarville and then on to 21 and back into Clarksville. Or, I might just make a quick jaunt up 21 through Fallsville to Ponca, then take 74 over to Jasper and down 7 to Pelsor and 123 back to Clarksville.

Gotta stop at the Hagarville General Store. Talk about a time warp!

I've driven/ridden these roads many times over the years but never on the Daytona.

What do you think? Would it be worth the ride, or should I stick to Hwy 23 up to Eureka Springs and back (the Harley route) ? I'm looking for a nice "clear one's head scenic ride", not a balls to the walls draggin metal parts type excitement. I fully expect to have clearly defined chicken strips on my new Qualifiers when I get home.
