are fairinngs really expensive?
Engine casings aren't exactly cheap either! :razz:
A fairing is easier to replace also than a crankcase with a big gouge in it or worse a whole that lets all the slippery stuff fall out. (you cannot then ride home)
Or another senario is an exposed waterpump like for example some Fazers. Low side one of those puppies and you could wipe out yer cooling system. (you can't ride home)
There are certain advantages to fairings, although expensive they could at times save more expensive bits from grinding or could even save your machine from being unable to be ridden home.
