Thanks for the clarification.

My Haynes manual was bought when I bought my bike so the newer style adjuster isn't mentioned.

Now I wonder if it would be cost effective to retrofit my '96 with the "under the seat" adjuster? I'll bet it's a tough job and isn't going to be cheap!
