Jim, The sending unit/switch is OK. With an ohm meter in shorts when engine is off and open when engine is running. Even if the wire is pulled from the switch the light remains on.
The white/red wire must be shorted to ground after the light but before the oil sending unit/switch.
Guess I'll have to pull the tank and side panels to trace it out.
