Ok I can really sympathize with you here, i'm knda going through something similar. My b!tch is not with Triumph though, it's not their fault- it's the dealer. IMO Triumph dealers have it easy, let's face it where else are you going to go. I would have to go to Pocatello ID for the next closest Dealer. (600 miles or so) I make an appointment to have my fork seals replaced two weeks in advance of the service date. Now I used to be a service writer and when I scheduled a know repair (ie if I knew we eould be repalcing brakes) I would make sure to have those parts in stock. I get there and they take apart my bike only to find out that they don'e have the seals in stock, 3-5 business days. They expected to keep my bike this whole time as well. I had them put it back togethter and fill the oil. They tell me they'll call me when the parts get in. 3-weeks later I call down and imagine that -they just came in. Saturdays at the dealership they don't take appointments, first come first serve. So I bundle up and get there 5 min before they open... 1st in line. About 1 1/2 hours later I get the "hey Joel we've gotta problem" I taken to my bike that and explained that when Igor the tech was putting the fork tube back together the dampening rod "cracked" and broke. HMMM i'm thinking, sounds more like YOUR problem and not MINE. Aparently they thought the same, I was told it would be covered. They order the part and I wait. I was fortunate enough to get a loaner bike. A 2004 or 2005 Bonneville, not a bad bike--No speed triple however. A week goes by and I call down. "Brad" ( name changed to protect the STUPID ) doesn't know whats going on and says he'll call me back. The next day I call and talk to Brad again, still doesn't know whats going on and gets the smart one. I'm told taht the part they ordered is un-orderable (***) and they had to order a new fork tube 3-5 days. Today was 7 days. Minus two for the weekend- 5 days. NO word as of yet.
We can only hope that Triumph will continue to grow, the competitve nature of business will force these dealers to treat us right and get stuff done. I considered a Bonneville for my wife, but I wouldn't buy one just because I don't want to have to deal wilth the dealer anymore. No fault to Triumph at all. The funny thing is--- HD dealers are even worse-- and they're in America!
I like the two Triumphs that i've ridden, I don't have a problem with the bikes Triumph builds, just the A$$ hats I have to take it to for service.
There- that was about $200 worth of my .02
