Mechanic: i know, but you should still check it on your own, but that aside, i think that because you were so low oil wasn't reaching the pump while you were wheelieing around. which i'm goint to neglect to tell anyone, but i think that's what happened.

Frankly, your mechanic has a point: changing the oil is not a substitute for checking the oil level; if you were very low, that could well have caused the problem. I think by not reporting the low oil situation to Triumph, your mechanic is doing you a huge favor.
At the same time, it sounds like the dealer is not as responsive as he should be.
I think you should take the good (your mechanic) with the bad (your dealer), be patient, and wait for something in the engine to really give up,
then get a new motor under warranty.
