If you want as much sport tourer as possible on the lowest dollar outlay, try a used Kaw Concours. Those things are really good in so many ways. Comfortable for two up. Got the bags already. Dead reliable. Shafty. Good weather protection, big tank. Large aftermarket. And...when you really want to, you can ride that thing fast enough to embarrass squids on GSXRs etc on Skyline Blvd south of San Francisco. I know, cuz I've done it. That bike has a lot of soul. It must rank up there with the Mad Max (Yamaha) as the least altered chassis since its introduction in 1986.

I know you're peesed off at Triumph, but that new Tiger looks cool. They probably got good brakes, not that they need em. I once rode my Concours from Amarillo TX to Flagstaff AZ and only use the brakes to stop for petrol and grease & dough. The brakes did come in handy along PCHwy though.
