In the interests of longevity you need to ride ASAP after start, and not thrash the bike unless the engine is warm.
Letting the bike idle (after start) is just letting it run rich permitting the excess petrol to wash away the oil from the cylinders...........more wear.
Riding off will load the engine permitting it to warm up quicker.
