I have a fairly new "06 Sprint that I'm in love with. But I gotta tell you that new Tiger would probably be the bike in my garage if it had existed six months ago.
The Sprints a great bike, but I've always wanted an Adventure bike with the long travel suspension, better crosswind protection, and the fully upright seating position. I started out on dirt bikes and guess I'll always just feel most at home on that type of bike. I've never gotten used to the bent over feel of sportier bikes. The Sprint isn't too bad, but it's nothing like the Tiger...
We have truly crappy freeways around here as well. The long suspension on the Tiger might be the answer. Problem is, the old Tiger was just a hair outside my comfort zone with regard to size. All the Adventure bikes were too big for what I was looking for in fact. The new Tiger looks to be about an half inch lower and has a narrower seat. I'm betting I could touch down just fine on that one.
It's the first bike of it's type that fits me without having to bolt on a bunch of mods. I'm gonna guess there's plenty like me around and I bet the new one sells pretty well for them. It's opened up a whole segment of the population that would never have considered an Adventure Type Bike.
Anyway, the new Cycle World features the new Tiger and I've been doing a lot of staring at it while watching TV with the Mrs. My Wife is giving me the fish eye because she knows what that means...
So to answer the question. If things continue on as they are and it tests as good as it looks then yeah, I'm gonna say I'll probably end up with one.
