Yes, it is true. I was suckered into buying an LT. Nothing compared to the boffing an acquaintance of mine got, however. Last year, his brand-new LT locked its rear drive on him, and put him in ICU and rehab for 4 months.
BMW (naturally), touts that their rear-drive failure issue hasn't caused any casualties. Of course, it always fails on LT's. It only occasionally happens to GS's.
In any event, my ass is still sore from the 'luxury' treatment I recieved from the Broken Motor Works. If you value your ass, keep it off a BMW.
