I noticed something about my Bonneville. This is about the eigth bike I have owned and my wife has never looked twice at any of my motorcycles. With the Bonneville she has walked up and sat on it in the driveway several times. Is that what is so appealing about Bonnies? That they are so approachable and simple to hop on?

I couldn't muster any enthusiasm about riding a motorcycle from my wife until I had a Bonneville in the garage. I caught her sitting on it in the garage several times. She started referring to it as "her" bike and signed up for the Motorcycle Safety Course to get her license.
There is definitely something "special" about the Bonneville

CHICK BIKE!! :-D I just couldn't resist.
My wife has also confessed that she has lusted in her heart for my Bonnie. Haven't been able to get her beyond her 125cc scooter yet, but she will in time. A year ago she was terrified to get on a 50cc scooter, then out of the blue decided to take the MSF course and get her license. Her biggest fear is being able to hold up the bike when stopped. I told her not to worry, someone would help her pick it up.
