Pigpen, if the Ducati gets your juices flowing then you should go for it. Biking is about more than Tigers, after all.

Apart from that, the Ducati is a well made bike these days. I had one for 5 and a half years and it was the most reliable and best finished bike I'd ever owned. Yes, you will have to pay out for servicing but the air/oil coled 1000DS engine is cheaper to service than the 916 derivatives.

There is nohing quite like the feeling of riding the torque wave of a well set up Ducati through a series of sweeping bends.
