Basically, you want an oil that meets JASO-MA certification, which basically means no friction modifiers. A motorcycle-designated oil typically (but not always) has a higher amount of Phosphorous and Zinc. Motorcycle oil is treating the crank, the transmission, and wet clutch, whereas car oils are basically just lubbing the crank, cams, etc.
And yes, the Mobil 1 motorcycle oil is different from their Mobil 1 car oil...check out their website.
