No, do not use an adjustable wrench. You are just asking for trouble if you do that! I also believe there is a fair amount of torque that should be applied to the nut.

I replaced my 19t on my '01 ST with the 18t and have been very happy with it. It makes my daily commute in fairly heavy to mild traffic easier.
