Allright guys. I am sitting here with 11k on the clock of my 05, and I was with you initially. I saw break in map and though, "hrmph never heard of it, must be a fantasy".
I used to complain about the soot on the pipes. I had to use carb cleaner to clear it, and there was a LOT of it. Regarding ctrhenry's comments, after I took mine in for the 3,000 service (not the 500), there has been very little buildup on the pipes. I was having a bad day when I brought it in for the 3,000, so I didn't talk to the guy much. Just asked about how the oil looked etc.
I think there might be some substance to this. I have my 12k service coming up soon. I'll ask then.
