Hiya people,
My sprint exec has been lying in the garage for around 9 - 10 months.
I've been running it for about three weeks, albeit a bit rough till I got some air in the tyres lol. I had to buy some adapter from the local jap dealer, becuase those garage air pumps just won't fit, I am sure they fit the valve, it's that they're not flexible enough to get right in there.
Now then, yesterday the bike cut out on me in slow traffic, big bummer when you're at a busy junction. I thought I'd go and pop some fuel in, so that's what I did. I got home ok without any problems. I took it out that evening and it just kept cutting out, like it was being starved of fuel.
Tonight, I took it for a bit of a burn and I got the same thing even at speed. Happily doing high speed when the same thing happened, judder cough the bike stops.
It takes a bit of starting once this has happened, the only thing that seems to make it strat again is twisting the fuel selector from on to res and prime - back and forth. It doesn't cut out when I ride with it in the prime position. I am not sure this is bad for the bike, as it's just supplying more fuel right?
Engine sounds fine, untill it begins to cut out you get that I am running outta juice sound lol.
One more small thing:
Frount tyre left hand side as you sit on the bike, there's the bar that goes through the wheel holding wheel to bike. Is there supposed to be a retaining clip there?
Triumph dealer doesn't seem to think it's carbs, he says it would sound like the bike was about to explode. His advice is to go for some blasts and hopefully whatever it is causing the problem will sort it's self out. He did say that it could be dirt in the fuel filter though.
My feelings are that it's the fuel tap, any thoughts??
Cheers and sorry it's been a long time since I was on here
:hammer:
